Torch ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Torch mobile application and website at torchpicks.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including picks made, leagues joined, and activity within the app. This data is used to provide the core functionality of the Service.
Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system, and browser information for analytics and to improve app performance.
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the Service; manage your account and league memberships; process your predictions and update leaderboards; communicate with you about the Service; and ensure the security of the platform.
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Data is hosted in the United States. We implement appropriate security measures including encryption in transit and at rest.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
With other members of leagues you join (your display name, picks, and league statistics are visible to fellow league members); with service providers who assist in operating the Service (Firebase/Google Cloud); or when required by law.
Torch is a free prediction game using virtual points only. We do not collect any financial information, payment details, credit card numbers, or banking information. No real money transactions occur on the platform.
The Service is not intended for users under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 17, please contact us immediately.
You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time through the app. To delete your account and all associated data, use the "Delete Account" option in the app's Home page. You may also contact us directly to request data deletion.
We use browser local storage to save your preferences (such as active league, dismissed onboarding, and disclaimer acceptance). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising trackers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
